Office area climate control
(Continuation)

Climatic changes in the environment have led to very hot summers in recent years. An optimum working environment nowadays requires the installation of air conditioning. This necessity is recognised, and hardly any office buildings are being erected nowadays that are not fitted with air conditioning equipment. The costs of acquiring and maintaining air conditioning plant are high. It is a central task for building management to achieve modern standards of convenience and comfort while holding down the costs. Modern office spaces must have variable room design, which means that it must be possible to modify them quickly and economically when needed. Ventilation and air conditioning equipment must keep pace with these changes.

This is where the Strähle/Westaflex wall climate control concept comes into play. The idea is to integrate all those components that used to be installed behind the suspended ceiling into the room's partition walls. The advantages are as follows:

  • The costs involved in building a suspended ceiling are no longer required, and the height of each story is reduced.
  • Corridors are used as exhaust air channels, and the climate-controlled air enters the room through outflow elements installed in the partition wall.
  • Both inlet and outlet elements are integrated into the partition wall.
  • A sound damper is contained in the outflow element to minimise crosstalk noise.
  • All requirements in the thermal insulation regulations of 1995 are satisfied. The servicing costs for the duct system no longer apply.
  • This system guarantees a high level of well-being while generating low air velocities in the rooms and low pressure drops.
