Steadily growing - but with strong roots

Strähle was founded back in 1911 by Paul Strähle as a joinery firm in Waiblingen near Stuttgart. Over the following decades, it grew into a successful carpentry and cabinet-making firm. From 1951 onwards, the firm was managed by Klara Strähle.

Not long after Werner Strähle joined the company in 1967, the first wood partition systems were manufactured. Strähle continued to grow and in 1975 moved to its new production facility with a workshop area of 3,000 sqm. in the Eisental business park in Waiblingen. Over the years, what had been a small craft-based company grew into an efficient and forward-looking company which fitted numerous offices and schools with partition walls and cupboard elements.

In 1986, it developed and patented the partition wall system 2000 with its steel mullion-based design. With the construction of a new office building, the production and service areas covered more than 6,000 sq.m. by 1990. In 1997, the company established its second location in Germany: a production facility of 3,500 sq.m. situated in Borkheide south of Berlin, producing partition wall systems for sale in northern and eastern Germany. At the same time, the company was constantly expanding its exports. Originally focusing on Switzerland and Austria, it built up partnerships with companies throughout Europe.

With the arrival of Paul and Florian Strähle, the fourth generations took over management of this family business in 2005 and 2006 respectively. In 2007, the production facility in Waiblingen was extended to include a state-of-the-art logistics and shipping warehouse with a surface area of 2,500 sq.m. In 2009, Paul Strähle took over as general manager of Strähle Raum-Systeme GmbH, jointly with Werner Strähle. In 2010, the Strähle Acoustics Workshop was established: this is an exhibition and training centre focusing on partition wall systems and acoustic solutions. 2011 is a special year – this autumn, Strähle will be celebrating its one-hundredth anniversary.
